Theatre Camp Puts Kids on the Fast Track to Theatre Productions!

Where on earth can a child learn everything they need to know to bring an hour-long musical to life in just 5 days? Norwalk Arts Center, of course!

Every summer, thanks to generous grants from Ohio Arts Council and the Geotrac Foundation, we partner with Missoula Children’s Theatre to bring well-known folk and fairy tales to our stage with a Monday through Friday camp.

Campers enter on Monday morning, many having never experienced any sort of camp or theatre production in their lives. Nervous but excited, they participate in ice-breaking conversations that help them connect with other campers and allow the directors to assess them for their roles in the musical.

Within about 90 minutes, roles are assigned, rehearsals begin, and fun project-centered activities related to the show keep campers engaged and entertained, all the while working towards a Friday evening production!
