Artists-in-the-Making (AIM) Program Provides Pop-up Arts Projects in a Safe, Non-judgmental Environment

Our AIM Program meets area 5th through 8th graders where they are–at Sheri’s Coffeehouse, after school on the first Friday of every month during the school year. Thanks to generous grants from Huron County Community Foundation and United Way, Arts Education committee volunteers provide all the materials needed to create an art project while hanging out with friends and meeting new ones.

Respect and acceptance are encouraged in this non-judgmental, supportive environment. Building community naturally happens with the connections that are made while creating, but also through collaborative projects offered to community members, like a flag mosaic created and donated to Ohio Veterans Home, yarn hearts for nursing home residents, and a coffee mosaic created for our hosts at Sheri’s Coffeehouse.

Follow Norwalk Arts Center on Facebook and Instagram and check our our upcoming events page for more details on AIM events throughout the school year.
